Negotiator Nikola Dimitrov did not reveal the trumps that he will use at the meeting with UN Special Envoy Niemitz. “The negotiations are in a very delicate phase. I can only say that I am in constant coordination with the PM’s and President’s cabinet. My mission is to try to make the maximum for the name of the state and the national identity”, Dimitrov stated. In Brussels, Dimitrov was told that Macedonia had met all criteria for NATO admission, but the name issue remained the only obstacle. Regarding the elections, NATO member-states’ ambassadors assessed that Macedonia has still much work to do, but it was well that the perpetrators were being persecuted.
