By 15 December, the Macedonian Army will return from the Iraqi base of Taji. This decision, which was confirmed by Ministry of Defence sources for A2 TV, is strategic and is not connected to the name issue whatsoever, A1 TV reports. The decision is in accordance with the previously started operation for return of coalition forces from Iraq, arranged between the Iraqi government and the US army in September. The preparations for the retreat have already commenced in the Macedonian Army, the units in Taji are being informed as well as other units in Macedonia such as the regiment for special operations from which the army contingent for Iraq is recruited. The soldiers are explained that the state of affairs in Iraq is stabilised and as a result the retreat will commence as anticipated by the agreement between the Iraqi government and the US army.
