Offices offering information on benefits of the subsidized housing project for young people have been opened in 33 municipalities in Macedonia, VicePM and Finance Minister Zoran Stavreski told reporters on Sunday. The offices, which offer detailed information on the loan terms, are opened to bring the project closer to young people up to 35years of age, who thus far have expressed great interest in the project, Stavreski said. He called on young people to take advantage of this project a unique opportunity for them to have own home. The project offers two options to young individuals. The first one envisages subsidizing 80% of the monthly instalment – principal and interest for a period of eight years and 50% thereof in the remaining three years, whereby the maximum amount of the loan may be EUR 50,000. As for the second option, in case the person has no sufficient funds to be extended a housing loan, his/her down payment will be 100% subsidized by the Government, i.e. EUR 12,500 for a loan of EUR 50,000. Applicants need to be under 35 years of age, with monthly income under EUR 900 for individuals or under EUR 1,300 for a family. Only citizens who don't currently own a house or an apartment are entitled to apply.
