Party Assessments to SAC’s Conclusions
The ruling party and the opposition presented different standpoints on the conclusions of Stabilisation and Association Council (SAC) in Brussels. “Macedonia has not made progress for five years. Four years ago, the PM Gruevski’s government inherited a candidate status and since then the country has not made a step forward. No one is to be blamed for that, except the wrong and irresponsible policies of Gruevski and VMRO-DPMNE,” stated SDSM MP Andrej Petrov. From within DUI they say that the government is responsible to fulfil all requests stipulated in the Report. “The Council of Ministers publicly indicated and called upon the opposition for the first time that it is also liable for the reform processes and that not only the government, but also the opposition takes the responsibility for the political dialogue in the country,” stated Silvana Boneva, of VMRO-DPMNE.
